Applying to MSU Dubai
Bachelor Degree Programs
Admission to MSU Dubai is competitive. For strongest consideration of your application, submit your application early in your final year of secondary school, using the on-line application process. Admission decisions are typically made 4 to 6 weeks after all of your application materials are received. MSU strongly encourages a college preparatory curriculum
in secondary school.
Bachelor's degree admission is based on:
Your academic performance in high school; |
The strength and quality of your curriculum; |
Recent trends in your academic performance; |
Your class rank; |
Your ACT, SAT, or other test results (recommended); |
Your TOEFL score; |
Your leadership, talents, conduct, and diversity of experience; |
Preparing for Your College Experience at MSU Dubai
If you are considering earning your bachelor’s degree from Michigan State University, you should pursue a college preparatory curriculum that at a minimum includes:
4 years of English (composition and literature) |
3 years of math (2 years of algebra, 1 year of geometry, and 1 higher-level math course) |
3 years of social studies (history, anthropology, economics, geography, government, political science, psychology, or sociology) |
2 years of science (biology, chemistry, physics, or earth science) |
2 years of a single foreign language |
If you are lacking in one of these areas, your application will still be considered. However, a less rigorous curriculum could put you at a disadvantage.
MSU encourages students to take honors, Advanced Placement, and International Baccalaureate courses when possible. It is preferable for students to fill course schedules with a majority of core academic courses each marking period, including four each semester during their senior year.

Dual Enrollment
Secondary school students who are dually enrolled at an accredited college or university may be eligible to receive credit for course work completed at that institution. However, courses will not be counted for both high school credit toward graduation and for transfer purposes, and mathematics courses for high school completion should extend through the level of a calculus preparatory class. Courses beyond these basic expectations that are transferable to MSU will be considered for credit. Students are encouraged to consider all Advanced Placement or International Baccalaureate courses offered in their school before dual enrolling at a college or university.

Advanced Placement Credit
AP, IB, CLEP, and A Level Examinations
Students can receive credit through Advanced Placement (AP), International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma Program, College-Level Examination Program (CLEP), and International A Level examinations. Strong scores may allow for a course waiver or course credit.
