MSU Dubai is a non-profit higher education institution established to promote world-class research, teaching and scholarship. Initially, MSU Dubai will offer students and professionals from the United Arab Emirates, the Middle East, and the wider region Bachelor's and Master's degree programs, beginning on a phased basis over the 2008-2009 and 2009-2010 academic years. All MSU Dubai degrees are equivalent to those offered by Michigan State University in the United States. The MSU Dubai programs have been selected to help meet the professional, management, and technical skills needed in Dubai, UAE, and the surrounding region.
MSU Dubai promotes progressive and competitive higher education programs to support regional students and Dubai’s internationally distinguished knowledge economy. Based in the heart of the Middle East’s emerging intellectual center, MSU Dubai will promote Michigan State University’s world grant mission. MSU Dubai scholars will teach, conduct research, and extend their knowledge and expertise to local, national, and regional constituencies and communities.
MSU Dubai will provide Bachelor's and Master's degree students with a broad intellectual background that will give them the habits of thought and analysis needed to live and work in a rapidly-changing modern world. Developing career and job-relevant skills are a core part of all degree programs to be offered at MSU Dubai.

As on the Michigan State University main campus in East Lansing, MSU Dubai will offer coursework in a variety of formats for both Bachelor's degree and Master's degree education. These formats include classroom teacher-led instruction, on-line classes, seminars, and special symposia and hands-on learning through internships and study abroad programs.
MSU Dubai seeks to replicate the campus atmosphere and the level of academic and student support that is a strongly established tradition on the main campus in East Lansing. MSU Dubai will be comprehensively connected with and integrated to the main MSU campus, giving Dubai students opportunities to enrich their academic and student life experiences through MSU main campus resources, on-line activities, and support.
While MSU Dubai offers the same quality of education as the main campus, MSU Dubai faculty members recognize the need to meet the unique needs of non-American students. Michigan State's Dubai Instructional Site will honor and blend the rich, multiple cultures that are Dubai, while providing the classroom experiences of a major, world-class research university -- distinguished faculty, a high degree of interaction in the classroom, and grading that reflects a variety of assessments throughout the semester.
